How to Prepare for your Appointment
-
The first treatment will be an hour and a half. Each treatment after that will be 1 hour.
-
Please wear loose clothing. Many points that are utilized in treatment will require loose-fitting clothing.
-
It is not good to show up to an appointment on an empty stomach.
-
Chronic conditions usually take more treatments than acute conditions.
-
Initially, appointments should be close together (1-3 times per week), but as treatment progresses, you will be able to space them further apart.
What treatment is like?
-
During your first initial appointment, we will go over detailed medical history before the acupuncture treatment.
-
During a follow-up appointment, there will be fewer questions asked and treatment will begin almost immediately.
-
Treatments may include moxa, electrical stimulation, cupping, Tuina massage, gua sha, and herbal consultation.
-
Acupuncture is not necessarily sensation free. Most patients can sometimes experience a “Qi“ sensation.
-
Most patients find treatments comfortable and relaxing and fall asleep during treatment.
