What is
Fire Cupping?
Fire Cupping is an ancient technique that involves placing heated glass cups on the skin to create suction. The vacuum/suction action of cupping immediately helps to force the release of rigid and tight muscles. It does this by loosening and lifting connective tissue. Cupping breaks up and drains stagnation, which is caused from tight locked up muscles. By moving blood and increasing Lymphatic flow to skin, muscles, and connective tissues, cupping allows the body to heal itself at a faster rate. Just a few minutes of cupping can drastically increase movement and patients often feel instant and lasting relief from pain and tightness.

So what is
Stagnation?
Pain in the body suggests that there is poor blood flow in that area. We call this stagnation. Stagnation, or poor blood flow, within muscles can be caused by a previous injury, overuse, or trauma. Impaired circulation within the body results in pain, dysfunction, and stiffness.
Fire Cupping breaks the stagnation free and moves the old non-circulating blood out. This allows for a healthy and free flow of blood, which restores normal function.
What exactly causes cupping marks?
Fire Cupping marks are not bruises! They aren't usually painful or tender and although the marks can look intense, it feels great! Fire Cupping leaves you feeling looser, with less pain and tightness. You will feel better almost immediately .
There's often old blood, lymphatic fluid, cellular debris, and other toxins that accumulate in the body. The marks left from Fire Cupping signify the release of stagnation from that area. All of the stagnation is moved to the skins surface, where the body uses the lymphatic system to carry it away to be metabolized and excreted.
The color of the cupping marks is directly related to the level of stagnation in the area. The darker the color, the more stagnation was present.
Marks can range from pinkish to bright red and even purple. The marks usually last a couple of days to about a week. If there is no pain or stagnation present, only a light pink mark will appear and it will quickly disappear after the treatment. However, in areas where there is old trauma or injury, multiple cupping treatments may be required to clear the stagnation. With each treatment, the cupping marks become less and less as the stagnation in the body improves.
